JT Thomas & Co, a firm of chartered accounts in Llandudno, has made it through to the final of the Free2Network Awards. The company has been selected as a finalist in the Business of the Year 2013 category. The Free2Network Business Awards recognise the achievements of businesses and entrepreneurs across the UK.
John Thomas, director at JT Thomas & Co said: “It was a welcome surprise and a great honour to discover that we are a finalist in the Business of the Year category especially given the tough
competition and we are eagerly awaiting the results next month.”
John founded JT Thomas & Co in 1981 and now employs 11 staff in three offices throughout NorthWales. John recently welcomed his son Max, daughter Amy and daughter-in-law Natalie to the family business following their accountancy training at global firms in Manchester.
Max said: “Like my father, we’ve trained in the corporate sector, but it’s always been my ambition to bring that experience back to North Wales. The next generation coming on board offers a real breadth of skills and approaches but understands the challenges facing local businesses and the importance of providing a valuable service throughout. We are incredibly proud and grateful to still have clients who started with the firm when it opened 30 years ago.”
Over the last year, the company has experienced significant growth particularly in the Llandudno office where Max is based with his wife Natalie. The business has employed 3 new trainees who are currently studying for their accountancy qualifications at a local college and further recruitment is planned.
Max added: “We are passionate about providing opportunities for young people in the local area and it is our policy to provide training and experience to all our staff so that they are fully equipped to meet the expectations of our clients.”
The coming year looks to be just as busy for JT Thomas & Co with plans to offer services outside of North Wales for the first time. The company recently won a contract with a client based in London and it is hoped that this will create opportunities in the London market and elsewhere. A new website will go live in the next few weeks and there are plans for a pensions seminar early in the New Year open to both clients and non-clients alike.
Max said: “Being a finalist in the Business of the Year 2013 is a fantastic way to recognise the hard work and dedication of all the staff at JT Thomas & Co. We would like to thank all our clients for their continued support and we look forward to the challenges of the coming year.”
The Free2Network Business Awards 2013 will be taking place on Friday 29 November at the St George’s Hotel, Llandudno.
